A few Leah-isms

I'm trying really hard to be interested in Barack Obama's speech right now....the first half hour was good, but my political patience doesn't last that long.



We've had two days of twin-sitting and I think the consensus is...uh, no thanks. The babies themselves aren't bad, but my girls are terrors. And any kind of change makes Leah spin out of control. We'll do one more day and then decide if we want to take them for the semester. Leah has fallen in love with a book about how to play the harmonica and decided that the girl twim would want to hear it.



Leah held the baby for as long as she could and said "Mom, I love her so really much." Well, the love didn't last past day one.










Leah also decided that she was going to squeeze herself into Hannah's pajama's. Leah wears a 6, Hannah wears 18 months. It took her a long time, but she managed to pour herself into them. She couldn't stand up straight in them and is scratched in the neckline where they were stretched too tight. This video doesn't give an accurate portrayal, but I still couldn't pass up an opportunity to tape it:




A NOTE FOR BRIAN AND HIS FANS:

Brian got up and helped with the twins before he'd slept very much. He watched the girls during an immense period of Hannah's screaming so I could go to a piano major meeting. He did the dishes. I'm writing this so he doesn't have to comment about it. :)

OMG! I am laughing so hard. First, the video of Leah in Hannah's pajamas. Then, the note to Brian's fans. Laughing so, SO hard. Why is it that men seem to think that they deserve a pat on the back for things that we do as a part of everyday life? :)

Out On the Town

Hi, Megan!! So good to hear from you! You've been on my mind a lot lately. I hope that means you and your fam are ok. Here's an answer to your question: The Match, or more accurately, THE GREAT AND ALL POWERFUL MATCH OF DOOM AMD DREAD, is where medical students find out where they do residency and in what specialty. Think of it as an arranged marriage. I will figure out how to post comments eventually. For now, this will do :)  Jacob and I have been making an effort to go out more-- for several reasons. Mostly to build our relationship, because we actually genuinely enjoy each other's company. NYE

New Year’s Eve 2009: Mapleton, UT I left Brian  in Logan and took the girls down to visit my parents for the new year. I felt bad and I felt relieved. I needed a break from him. We didn’t have money for food. He spiraled and never climbed out.  New Years Eve 2014: Mapleton, UT I went to Utah with my girls and left Jacob in Miami. He could have come but made up an excuse about studying and visiting his dad instead. Always talked about visiting his dad—alone— when I talked about a family visit. New Year’s Eve consisted of me, my parents and Stephen and laurel. There might have been some others that left earlier. I took no pictures. The new year rang in and felt so alone and empty.
