The Breakup
I'm sad. I'm going to allow myself one blog post of sad, mournful wallowing. Miami and I broke up. We only lasted one year and no one thought we'd get along as well as we did. I knew all along it was a fling, but that isn't making it easier. Goodbye, beautiful and clean pool. We were usually the only ones there. The temperature was perfect. Goodbye synchronized swimming routines and elusive mermaid adventures. Goodbye, invitation to be on a competitive dance team (insert many gut-wrenching tears by Hannah). goodbye teacher who said she has more natural talent and understanding of dance than most people ever acquire. Goodbye, wildlife. Alligators, birds, raccoons, flamingoes, dolphins, lizards, possums, sea turtles. I never tired of seeing them (except the spiders and roaches). Goodbye, Florida Keys.
