Great Harvest
(The title "Great Harvest" refers to an excellent bakery here in Utah. If you haven't tried it, please come visit me and we'll have some fat-tastic, calorific goodness.)
Face Update:
At the follow-up appointment with the dermatologist, he said (and this an exact quote), "If you'd like, I can harvest one of those sores so we can see exactly what virus it is. You'll have a permanent scar, though." He actually said 'harvest' in reference to something on my face. I had to decline such a tempting offer. I look much better now--just some scabby, flaky leftovers. I'm willing to pull my head out of my hoodie and face real life.
Let's talk about something else. Like something else harvest-related.
If you're like me, you make it to October every year and think, "All I want is about a million pumpkins because they are the happiest, wonderfullest vegetable."So this year, I decided to plant some extra pumpkin starters. I just wanted to have enough for each of us to carve.
And I neglected to weed the pumpkin patch for the whole big summer. On October 2nd, I couldn't stand the suspense anymore, so Hannah and I went out and mined pumpkins. It was so exhilarating I almost can't talk about it without getting all worked up. We found 33 of them. 33! Not quite a million, but I was happy.
We found this one vine that was about 15 feet long. So cool!

"Stop looking at me!"

Wagon o' pumpkins
Hannah is a serious gardener. And she seriously wears a lot of pink.
Washing off the lot of them. Most of them were Jack Be Littles (which I love), but we also got 7 or 8 big carving ones.
