Small and insignificant update

Here's a small update on us. I think it's a good thing that I haven't blogged much this month since that means I'm being so busy and productive, right? RIGHT? I definitely have had to find creative ways to use my time, like doing homework at 5 am and taking online quizzes Friday nights at 10 pm. My life could not be more exciting. *oozes with sarcasm* I tease myself for being a bit lame, but I have a lot to do lately and eventually the lameness will cease.

The three of us have been enjoying ice skating quite a bit. It's an activity that I would have never considered for us, but it's actually going great! Hannah had a shaky start, but she was scooting around on her own during her last lesson. Leah cannot get enough of it and asks "how many hours til we come back?" I think we'll keep going as long as 1)they offer lessons or 2)we run out of money...the likely option. It's nice to find a sport for Leah when swimming isn't in season. I've learned the hard way that she requires a high dose of physical activity everyday or she's chewing up couch cushions.

There isn't much else to say about us except that we are doing pretty well! Leah tells me every week "I'm so grateful to live in such a nice house." It won't last, but we are very relieved--and grateful to my parents for putting up with us-- to have a place to stay until I'm totally on my feet. When's that going to happen? I don't know, but probably not until I get certified next year and am making more of a salary and not just pennies.

Still no word about the camera, but it better show up in time for someone's 4th birthday. She told me she wants a Hello Kitty ice cream cake and an Ariel hair salon, no party, but wants us girls to go get our nails done and have ice cream and maybe some Red Robin. I'm not really sure where these opinions are coming from, but at least I know what to plan on! And I don't have to do a 4 year old friend party-THREE CHEERS FOR THAT!

3 cheers for no friend parties! I think I'm ready to tell my kids no friend parties this year. I know I'll cave, though! And I think I saw a "My Strange Addiction" commercial for a woman who eats couch cushions--better watch Leah closely!
So glad the ice skating is going well. My kids hated it. And I'm sad because what else are we going to do in January?
