We've had the craziest week/weekend, but I wanted to put a little update on her about Leah (yes,I know my posts have been a bit Leah-heavy.) She complained last week of being too cold, which for her is really strange. She's always steamy hot. We went swimming on Friday and she complained that her ear hurt, so I thought she just got water in her ear from the pool. Her birthday party was on Saturday and she just wasn't herself-quiet, not very active, etc. She was also having major panic issues about going to church and having the Primary sing for her birthday. She had a fever that night and a bit Sunday morning, but it went away and she seemed to be doing okay. Sunday night she spiked a pretty beefy fever and had some nasty headaches. I took her into the dr this afternoon, and she has an ear infection (no biggie, we've done lots of those), FLAMING tonsilitis (I had NO IDEA. She never complained about having a sore throat, and I found out later it's because she didn't want to have surgery like Hannah did. So she just didn't tell me), and finally the dr found a heart murmur. Here's how a mom's mind thinks in this situation:
"She has a heart murmur?!"
"She's going to have surgery!"
"She's going to have open heart surgery!!"
"SHE'S GOING TO DIE IN SURGERY."
It's totally irrational, but I know all you moms have been through the same thought process! We all do it at some point! From what I understand, a heart murmur can be caused by fevers and a lot of kids get them. Still, we will be having it checked out at Primary Children's Hospital. And mom will cease panicking for the moment.
Switching gears a bit, I started my BYU classes today. I'm taking 2 of them over the summer and they'll count towards my Spanish teaching minor that I'm getting from USU. The two classes are Intro to Spanish Literature and Spanish Pronunciation and Phonetics. It was a little odd to sing a hymn and say a prayer to start class.
Ok, I just fell asleep writing this. Hasta luego!
