A Good Day Ain't Got No Rain

Health Update:

There is no update. I have bouts of nausea. I am huge. I have major fatigue and have learned to stay home and sleep all day. I also have a normal CT scan, blood work, and a doctor who told me he wasn't losing sleep over my results. I *might* have raised my voice at this point and said, I AM THE ONE LOSING SLEEP OVER MY HEALTH. And Jacob, who was right there, may have looked a little shocked. I'm on some meds that I promised to take but don't believe they will do a bit of good.

Family Update:

For being as poor as dirt, I was shocked to look through the pictures of the past month and realize how much fun we've had. True, genuine fun doing silly things. Most of them were free or very cheap.

We had to find a pumpkin patch or the whole fall season would have been a major fail for Hannah. So we showed up at this one in Homestead right as it opened. Being in the laid back culture that we are in right now, most of the workers weren't there yet and they clearly weren't ready for us. But we wandered around and enjoyed the scenery and activities anyway. We found out that we saved ourselves a $40 entrance fee since no one was at the gate to take our money (didn't know it was going to cost that much...phew). Nothing here feels like fall. It's 80 degrees and as green as ever. But it was nice to go through the pumpkin patch rituals anyway. We painted, looked at animals, rode ponies and even did a paddleboat. I hate those things!!!

Wretched boat. But it was beautiful.

Part of our Halloween fun was to go to a party across the street that Miami Dade College puts on for the community. It was free and they were handing out handfuls of candy, balloons, hot dogs, etc. Right in the middle of it all was a dance party. And guess what?! People were dancing! And having fun! You do not see dance parties in the Mormon culture. Mormons don't dance. I love Mormons. I'm a very devout one-- but they don't dance. It was great. All ages, all types of dancing. The girls did the Cupid Shuffle for days after the party.

All this staying home and not having a life has turned me into Suzy Homemaker. I made this zombie meatloaf for Halloween dinner:

Hannah wasn't loving the pumpkin guts:

The zombie after it cooked:

Also I turned my seven layer dip into a spider web:

Of course, we had to have an orange pumpkin kitty since we now have an orange kitty:

Trick or treating was a strange--but very good--experience. Most of the houses with lights on weren't answering, but there were so many families out wandering the neighborhood that it turned into a game of who's home/who's ignoring Halloween. The weather was a warm 80 degrees and we stayed out until their feet hurt too much to continue.

TONS of candy. Those are my slippers and the orange kitty, who I call Catface. Not sure where that came from...

It honestly was one of the best Halloweens we've ever had. Maybe the best. The kids were SURE that it wouldn't be fun unless we were trick or treating in Mapleton and doing Utah school activities, but we all had such a good time and truly, genuinely enjoyed the holiday. I was sad to blow out the candle on the kitty jack-o-lantern.

I am SO sorry there hasn't been an answer to the health issues. I know how frustrating it is when YOU know something is wrong, but no one else seems to think it's a big deal. Lots of prayers that answers come soon for you. I LOVE that you are having fun--Florida looks amazing! I love you SO much!
