This is me talking about myself. Don't read it.

Do you ever read other people's blogs and you think, "That's fantastic, but let's hear a little less about your kids and more about YOU?" I do, so naturally I assume that everyone on earth feels that way.

Remember a few years on Facebook when everyone was writing notes called "25 Things" and you had to write 25 semi-interesting facts about yourself? Everyone acted all put out about having to do it, but  I've never seen so many contributors! My favorite was when a friend of mine made a huge stink about having to do it (she called it "Fine! 25 Things!"), then ended doing an additional 25 list after that.

So, here are 25 things about me. If you want to know something else that I didn't include ("when are you going to grow out those childish bangs already?") you can comment--or for my non-commenting fan club, you can email me.

1. I am not, and never will be, a morning person. This is not a crime or a sign of laziness, it's the way I came. If you're a morning person, chances are good that we aren't friends.

Me in the morning:

2. Right now I'm going to school through Utah State to be a resource teacher. I'm getting a second bachelor's instead of a master's because it qualified me for a loan forgiveness program. Yes, I hate that question.

3. The 12 credits I have are drowning me. Luckily, the classes are easy. Just a lot of busy work.

4. I've been living with my parents for 2 years. I will probably be here another 2 years. You can send sympathy cards to my parents who are the ones getting the raw end of the deal right now.

5. I work as a substitute teacher for the school district in this area. I actually really love it, but only if I'm subbing for jr. high and high school students. Which leads me to #6

6. When I grow up and get my teaching license, I hope to teach in a jr high or high school. It's the best age.

7. My favorite thing about being single is having the bed to myself. I can kick, flop, toss, and mummify myself in covers all night without bothering someone else. I sleep diagonally.

8. I've seen four movies in theaters this year:
           a) Alice In Wonderland
           b) Something Borrowed (The book was better.)
           c) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2
           d) The Help

9. I'm a closet Green Day fan. I've been singing "Wake Me Up When September Ends" all month long. I only listen to a few of their songs because the rest have foul language. I'm not into foul language.

10. The only shows I watch on t.v. are Doc Martin (a British medical comedy/drama. SOOO funny!) and What Not To Wear. The other day Hannah said "Mom, are you watching 'I Don't Know What To Wear'? Sometimes I don't know what to wear, either." She's probably noticed that I spend a super long time every morning standing in nothing but underwear, staring at my sorry wardrobe. You know you do it, too.

11. Our Friday night tradition is to eat pizza and watch a movie at home. I put my kids to bed and do homework. Just writing this is inducing sleep.

12. This year I grew a garden. I didn't think anything would grow, and guessing by the shocked tone in my mom's voice when stuff popped out of the ground, she didn't think I could grow anything, either.

I chopped onions for a really long time before realizing there was a food processor in the house. To the left is my first cantaloupe. I was so proud of that melon!

13. I had my first canning experience this week. My aunt's peaches were falling of the tree and a neighbor offered to teach me how to bottle them. It was surprisingly enjoyable!

14. Right now my kids are wrapped up in blankets on the floor, pretending to be hatching butterflies.

15. This space intentionally left blank.

16. I'm still reading Newberry winners, I just haven't posted about them for a while. The last one I read was Tale of Despereaux, which was boring.

17. At church I am the Relief Society secretary. Relief Society is the women's group in my church. All that means is that someone thought I was organized so they asked me to do the job. They very quickly found out that that was a huge mistake and now they are stuck with me. No one knows how to tactfully get rid of me, so I'm playing the part of the organized person. It's laughable. A few weeks ago, we had an ice cream social.

18. This is so lame that I'm stopping a few short of 25.

19. My kids are still the center of my life.

Hannah took this super cheesy shot of me. All I need is a spiral perm and a shaker sweater.

Just for fun, I thought I'd post the Facebook note I wrote over 2 years ago.

Okay, I've done this twice and it didn't work! Either I'm a moron or the computer is playing jokes on me.

1. I'm not doing this again.
2. My family of origin is super cool and maybe a little quirky. Especially Jacob.
3. I watched the Super Bowl for the first time yesterday. I didn't care who won, but it was an experience (a good one).
4. I have a deep, deep loathing for bananas. HATE.
5. I believe there is a God.
6. Even though I will be graduating with a music degree, I've always felt like a very inferior and mediocre musician.
7. I'm not afraid to tell you exactly what's on my mind without filtering much.
8. I had some nasty gallbladder surgeries last year with complications. I was in the hospital long enough to qualify to take a survey about how they did.
9. I have two little girls-Leah (4) and Hannah (2 next week, going on 12). They are pretty much the center of everything I do, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
10. I'ved in 7 different states-South Dakota, Washington, Idaho, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah. In that order.
11. I served an LDS mission in some of those states and that's where I learned Spanish.
12. I've always had a complex about my body, even though I lost almost 60 pounds a few years ago. Currently trying to shed a few of those.
13. I got into pilates last year and my back doesn't hurt anymore.
14. In high school, my dad gave me a chocolate chip cookie recipe book. I still use it and if you'd like some cookies, I'd love to make you some.
15. I don't cry at movies.
16. About once a day, I laugh at something so hard that I cry. Most of the time I don't remember what was funny.
17. Speaking of Utah, the scariest drivers in the US live here. I felt safer driving the wrong way down a one way street in Manhattan during rush hour. Sorry about that, Karina.
18. I've always had a very strong need for travel and adventure.
19. My oldest daughter has autism, yet is high functioning. Some people think that she's completely normal and that the parenting she's received is what's questionable.
20. I didn't get the gene that involves being organized or with it in anyway. I frequently forget birthdays, lose the bills, lose my keys daily, and don't remember to buy diapers until the child is wearing the last one.
21. I have a very soft spot for most animals, including the mice who left poop in my daughter's drawer.
22. I have no soft spot for spiders. I have Brian get rid of them because I can't handle the crunch it makes.
23. If you're still reading this, I'm impressed and flattered.
24. Dorkiest thing about me-I love all kinds of puzzles: jigsaw, crossword, sudoku, etc.
25. I have many friends that I don't see very much-or at all- and I miss them a lot.
26. I'm a rebel-see? I wrote 26. Take that.

watched the Super Bowl for the first time yesterday. I didn't care who won, but it was an experience (a good one) (That was at my apt) I remember when you wrote that 2 years ago! Oh how I miss our Logan days. Hugs your way. Hope you survive your mom being gone. My hubby has been gone a lot and working on his dissertation. I feel like a single mom most days.

Single parenting doesn't really work that well! We are surviving, though. Sadly, I haven't watched a Super Bowl since--maybe because I don't have Reese's Pieces Chex Mix.

First off, you are a REBEL. Second, I'm laughing so hard I can't think of what to write. Third, it's sad that I don't talk to you more often. Fourth, you are amazing in every way. Lastly, when do I get to see/talk to you again?

My favorite memory of SARC is waiting for you to come in at 4 am with a story about how one of your kids cried all night. haha... I love you!

Princesa--We must get together SOON. It's been way too long!

Julianne-- That was the worst! It's been 4 years now but I still haven't forgotten how much Hannah CRIED AND CRIED. Holy cow. Seriously, seeing you was such a bright spot. I miss you!
