I've gone Belly up


Here's some random thoughts and events from my day-


1)My coworker filled me in on how the kitty is doing. It makes me miss her, but it sounds like the kitty has a lot of catching up to do developmentally, and is very time consuming. I'm glad we're not dealing with that right now and Tiffini said she really needed this kitten because it's helped her relieve some stress.


2)Morelia peed on everything she was wearing. I sent her home barefoot, in boy's jeans. Her reaction to the accident was kind of sever and it makes us wonder if she gets punished for wetting her pants. It was very sad.


3)One of the other kid's mom, whose name is Spring Bean (no joke) talked to me about medicating children. It was good to talk to her because we've been thinking about getting something psychotropic for Leah.


4)Speaking of the devil-ette, she held her doo-doo for 51 hours before she finally let it go. Not that I'm counting. I will spare the details of the first trip to Macey's; the second trip involved getting 'beans' (her reward for pooping already) and everything else that was in the cart that I abandoned on the first trip. So much for saving gas.


5)Hannah's cutest words today - 'beep' (grape) and 'geek' (drink). My coworker said of Hannah today "She's so cute. And then she starts screaming." A very observant and too true comment.


6)My favorite blanket has been returned to me ('Softie'). It's now sporting a red binding, but that's okay. It missed me.


7) In the midst of Leah's 'I-don't-want-to-poop' tantrums, which lasted all afternoon, I ate nearly half of a Ben and Jerry's. Oh well, it was good.


8)I think tomorrow needs to be set aside for some cleaning. This place is NASTY.

guess I forgot until I was getting all into your "I've gone Belly up" post that I was going to stop reading your blog when I get off work so I don't get all energized and therefore not ready to sleep...Whoops! I just love you, love our girls, and love almost everything you have to say!!!

Parent Teacher Conference

Dear Mom, You left 4 months ago. You clearly didn't mean to leave when you did, with your shoes sitting by the door and your unfinished paper boxes of chocolates for Relief Society. No one else wants to hear how the girls are doing. No one else has lived with us for so long and understands them and the dynamics of my family like you do. I've retreated into my own silence and my own world, desperately trying to survive each day--sometimes each hour--knowing that although so many friends and family care (and I couldn't survive without their support), there is really no one left that has experienced firsthand the horror story I'm starring in. We had parent teacher conferences last night at Leah and Hannah's school. We had to bring Lucy, who wet her pants twice and cried to go home. 3 Years

The social media version: “A new burger place in Park Slope— pretty good but girls still love Black Tap better. I love the exposed brick and VW van counter.” The reality: We were supposed to go to burgers last night to remember Dad on the 3rd anniversary of his death. I was very sick this weekend. Leah had a fever of 105— I’m gonna day that again— 105 and Lucy was being picked up by her clown father. No one was ok. We somehow made it out of the house today but we could hardly talk about Dad/Grandpa. Hannah regrets that she doesn’t remember much. Leah is deeply grieving a very special connection they had. She cries silently. I am physically wasted with a chest cold, anxious about how Lucy is doing at her dad’s house and too broken to help anyone.
