Recipe for a good summer
Let's start with a recipe for a bad summer:
Ingredients:
6 weeks of observation in a year round school
2 hours a day of commuting to said school
3 hours of homework every night
1 confusing, disorganized, ridiculous professor
1 case of pneumonia
-2 weeks of sleep
Directions:
Mix everything together, preferably all in the same day. Throw in dashes of stress, anxiety, irritability and overeating to taste. Doesn't freeze well. Not recommended to share with others.
Since no one would want that kind of summer, here are a few pics and experiences that we've had of a pretty good summer (the term 'summer' is used loosely to refer to the few weeks of break that I've had).
Here's a better recipe for summer:
Ingredients:
3 hours at Payson Lakes
1 hot dog/marshmallow roast at the campground up the street
1 4th of July in Logan
Unlimited amounts of cousin love
2 hours of watching the backhoe in front of the house
Leah learned to ride a bike! She got on, I held on for a few tries, then she said "Mom! Let go! I can do it myself." She was so ready. Now I can't get her off the bike, but that's not something I'm complaining about.

1 chance of accidentally finding a sweet deal on a wagon
1 new-to-us car
30 minutes to learn how to ride a bike
Directions:
Don't try to do everything at once. Since thunderstorms will chance your plans daily, be flexible. It's okay to stay up late if you're in the middle of a good movie. Throw in a few handfuls of sense of humor, ice cream sandwiches and play dates with the neighbor girl. Slow cookers works best with this recipe since you don't want it to happen too quickly.

We spent quite a bit of time trying to find a car. In the end, it was Jen who stumbled across the right one. Leah told me "the new car has to be red and smell like bubble gum." She wasn't too disappointed that it was black and smelled like bubble gum. I don't know what that means, by the way.
